IT:U is a new technical university in Austria (Linz) dedicated to digital transformation, driven by interdisciplinary research and project-based learning to actively shape this transformation and advance it with a solution-oriented approach.
IT:U offers interdisciplinary study programs along digital transformation topics, employing an innovative project-based, hands-on educational model. Our students learn while creating real world projects in a number of specialized education labs that provide a wide range of perspectives on digital technologies. Available labs include motion capture, augmented reality, robotics, user interaction, digital production, data science and many more. A smart agriculture indoor farming lab and a satellite technology lab for developing and launching cubesat satellites are under development. IT:U will build more than 30 education labs over the coming years to accommodate planned student numbers
Lab Expert and Coordinator for Acoustics Lab (m/w/d) *

Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Lab Management & Educational Support: Develop and oversee lab procedures, schedules, and educational projects with a focus on robot motion control, automation systems, and human-robot interaction.
- Student Guidance & Technical Assistance: Instruct students on equipment use, experimental setup, troubleshooting, and project execution.
- Lab Organization & Maintenance: Implement a structured system for restocking, equipment upkeep, and software updates to ensure smooth operations.
- Safety Compliance & Training: Develop and enforce lab safety protocols, participate in safety certifications, and provide safety training for students and faculty.
- Project Support & Lab Advancement: Collaborate with faculty and IT:U’s program manager to align lab resources with project needs and drive continuous improvement.
Your strengths and skills:
- PhD degree related to acoustics, mathematics or machine learning
- Work experience in at least two of these fields
- Proficiency in setting up and conducting acoustics experiments
- Experience working with scientific instrumentation, preferably in an educational or research environment
- Expertise in theoretical backgrounds of machine learning and/or interdisciplinary teamwork is of advantage
- Expertise in applications in medicine, health but also arts and humanities is highly welcome
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures
- Excellent communication skills and English on minimum level C1
